Rick is an experienced senior leader with a diverse background spanning the financial services, insurance, disability and government sectors.
Prior to his retirement from executive roles, he was most recently the Chief Executive at the Lifetime Support Authority of South Australia, the scheme responsible for the ongoing treatment care and support for seriously injured road accident victims in SA. Prior to this he was the Deputy Chief Executive at the Insurance Commission of Western Australia and lead the establishment of the WA lifetime care scheme for motor accident victims, the CIS.
From a non-executive perspective, Rick was a member of the Road Safety Council of WA for five years, responsible for providing advice to the Minister on road safety matters. His involvement included the period during which the current, decade long strategic plan was developed, as well as the establishment of the Road Safety Commission as a stand alone agency.
His experience in approving funding, engaging and working with a wide range of disability service providers to assist in complex cases gives him a strong understanding of the evolving marketplace for services in this space as the NDIS has grown and matured. Additionally, his background in financial services over the entirety of his career, including in investments, banking and insurance gives him a strong financial skill set, bringing a particular focus on financial sustainability to the role.
Rick is also a graduate of the AICD Company Directors course and has more than fifteen years’ experience at Board level either on, or reporting to, Boards in the Government, Not-for-Profit and Sporting Association environments, bringing this expertise in good governance to the Board at DLi.
